Head Like a Kite

Head Like a Kite is Dave Einmo's (the guitarist with Seattle's Sushirobo) brand new project fusing movies and music. Sampling sounds from his family's 70's era Super 8 reels as a starting point, Einmo's ensuing soundscapes combine lush indie vibes with mixed up eclectic beats. With an album,"Random Portraits of the Home Movies" out on Pattern 25 on 21st February 2006, Einmo has released a selection of fantastic teaser tracks on his official website (under "Listen").

We're just loving these sampler tracks and can't wait to get our mitts on the album proper, it's genius. For example, take "Tell Mommy You Want a Sip of Beer", it's that long lost Super 8 snippet that provides its not so innocent opening line, with the track then easing into a blissed out cinematic tour de force!

With more film being shot to visually supplement that used for the album, Head Like a Kite are on tour along the US west and east coasts from February 22nd onwards. Catch their gigs which promise cool tunes and live Super 8 footage, mixed and projected in real time! [Via The Catbirdseat]
