Super 8 Special

Each year since 1998 David Pfluger has organised a Super 8 event in Basel, Switzerland, and this year is no exception.

On 08/08/2008 (geddit?) the 'Super 8 Special' film festival will show an array of Super 8mm films, hopefully outdoors (if not at the Neues Kino in Basel), all under 10 minutes - from right across the spectrum of geography, genre and technical prowess.

As David says himself "The idea behind my Super 8 festival is, to give Super 8 filmmakers a chance to show their works without the pressure of a contest or the need to show a perfect piece of work. There are virtually no possibilities to show your (first) films if you are a Super 8 filmmaker and/or don't have a reputation yet. To see what other people are creating is very entertaining and inspiring."
