SXSW (South by South West) - Austin's hip 'n' cool music fest plus has a strand entitled "The Power of Super 8 Film" on Saturday 13th March at 3pm comprising some small film heavy hitters...

Getting busy with Super 8 in Cambridge

The Cambridge Super 8 guys are getting busy in the run up to this year's small format extravaganza (22nd of April to 1st of May 2010)...

Free Super 8 workshop

A presentation on the Super 8 format and its possibilities at 8pm at the Music Room at St-John college (in partnership with Soc Doc Soc)
"Come and join us to learn a few tips before shooting your first Super 8 reel!"

If you want help at the Cambridge Super 8 Festival, join the team at the USC Bar (Mill Lane, Cambridge) at 6pm on Thursday the 25th of February. There are plenty of positions to fill: ushers, technical support, publicity... go to the information meeting and find how you can get involved and help.

LaborBerlin: This Saturday!

LaborBerlin cordially invites you to the inauguration of its new rooms in Stattbad Wedding on the 20.02.2010, starting from six until late, with screenings and music.

LaborBerlin has invited 6 labs to screen a selection of their self processed films: "Laba" from Athens, "Super 8 Picnic in a hand" from Vilnius, "Zebralab" from Geneva, "L'abominable" from Paris, "Worm Filmwerkplaats" from Rotterdam and "Sector 16" from Hannover. Each Laboratory will have a 20 minutes "Carte Blanche", LaborBerlin and its friends will also show films.

This weekend - 2010 United States Super 8 Film + Digital Video Festival

Watch the winning films and digital videos of the International U.S. Super 8 Film + Digital Video Festival, selected by a jury of filmmakers, students, and media professionals this weekend.

The festival, now in its 22nd year, will feature finalist works by independent filmmakers from the United States and around the world. A different program of films and videos will be offered each night.

Prize winners will be announced on the closing night of the festival, in a competition for $4000 in cash and prizes, along with the Audience Favorite Prize. 120 min.

All screenings will take place on February 19th - 21st, 2010 beginning at 7PM, in Voorhees Hall #105 at 71 Hamilton Street on the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, U.S.A.

Admission per evening: $10 General; $9 Students/Seniors; $8 Rutgers Film Co-op/NJMAC Friends

straight 8 is open to anyone, anywhere you make the film you want to make on just one roll of super 8 without any editing if it's great you see it - for the first time - at cannes or one of a load of other superb

screenings throughout 2010 - benicassim, rushes soho shorts, raindance and more are waiting to be confirmed like guadalajara, cannes film festival (the 8th consecutive year) the deadline is later than it’s ever been and includes easter weekend: april 6th
